We opened Capital Books on K in 2019 after successfully running a book review business for more than a decade. We felt that the close proximity to the Crest Theater would provide the perfect partnership to bring authors who are touring California and the Bay Area into Downtown Sacramento. We also felt that the time was ripe to join in on the revitalization of Downtown.
In February 2022, we expanded into our basement, which is called Another Universe, which houses all of our science fiction books, toys, and games, and is a perfect partnership to our cafe in Cathedral Square, There and Back Cafe & Games.
Capital Books has a highly curated selection of books so that almost anyone can find a book to their taste. We love getting to know our customers so we can recommend books we think you will enjoy or push you out of your norm.
